Bringing him home...Amanuel Joseph!!

Well, so much has happened!! We have passed court and now we are waiting for our Embassy Date. We were told that we could travel to be in Ethiopia the week of the 8th or the week of the 22nd. Well, here we are on the 19th and still waiting to hear about the possibility of traveling in two weeks. We went ahead and contacted a travel agent...only to find out that there are limited seats left (and we can't book until we are told..okay). We are praying for all to come together and to see what God has planned this time. This has been such amazing journey, because so much has been in His court. If He wanted this for our family...we would know. He has shown us so many times!! From the day our friends told us about Amanuel back in December to now...what an amazing adventure!! We have never felt so blessed..and all because of our Faith in Him!! Thank you, God!! We will keep you updated this week. Our flight may be out on Easter and home 1 week later!! We also found out that Amanuel is now 5 (we thought was 3 or 4). We will do a few tests to see if they would say he is 4 or 5 (bone density and dental scan). If Amanuel is 5..let him be!

February update

Well, time is flying and we are getting closer. We were submitted to court this past week, which means that all paper work is done. Now, we are waiting for a date, which will probably be around the middle of March. Why is this such a big deal? Well, he is then ours and we can post pictures and call him (legally) our son. He is now aware of his family and has pictures and special gifts we sent. We sent a package a couple of weeks ago with our friends. They had chance to meet and sit with him for a little while, while they picked up their 3 children. We know have a picture of the the size of his foot (shoes to buy) and updated pictures of him. Please continue to pray for this process. God is in control. I notice myself get nervous, but then his Word reassures me that it's all in his hands. This is very reassuring to me! God is Good!

January 31st- update

Well, we are waiting for our court date. Our dossier arrived safely in Ethiopia about a week ago. They will have to get everything ready for court and then we will be given a date. We are praying for this BIG day, as we will then know for sure if God has planned for A to join the Dunahee family.

We had a sad week, as our last two foster children have left. We have made a difference in 5 children's lives, but now it's time for their birth parents to take over and us to enjoy our family of four...until we grow again. Prayers for them!!

We also had a wonderful day just the two of us going to Milwaukee to get our fingerprints scanned. Since that only took 15 minutes...we stopped to see the AMAZING Dead Sea Scrolls at the Milwaukee Museum...WOW!! Please find the time to get there to see them! It's worth the trip and cost!

The final note...we are excited to see our friends, the Knutson's return this week from Ethiopia with their 3 new family members. Two of their children are staying here for the night and we are having a great time. I always know where to find children, if I need to borrow one or two for the night! Well, enjoy the week!
May God bless you all!!

Moving along...YAY

Well it's been a little over a month since we started and it is going great! God has been with us and guiding us through every move of this great adventure. We have signed a referral for our new son "A" (that's what we will call him for now) which means he will be part of our family. Bob hand delivered our dossier to the Secretary of State in Madison on Tuesday and has passed state and is in D.C. as I am writing this. It should be on it's way to Ethiopia on Tuesday, Yay......this was a huge task and we are so happy it is almost done.

Our Adoption.

What a gift from God! We have discussed adoption and all other forms of having more children during the past 3 years of our time together. We have been foster parents for 1 year and we started thinking about adoption again! We have been very interested in the adoption process that our friends, the Knutsons, have been going through and thought we would check into this. Plus, when we were told about "A", we wanted to know more about this adorable 3/4 year old. (Not sure why but now we know what God had planned)! Life if exciting and we feel very blessed with this process already!! It's moving along with our Home study on Monday! Please pray for this process so that we can travel to get our little boy as soon as possible!!
